Water Systems Dispatch is a periodic series by Hawapani Foundation that brings together insights from monitoring systems, institutional responses, and governance frameworks shaping the safety of drinking water and water ecosystems.

While causes, immediate responses, expert commentary, and historical warnings are reported, structured insights on how these incidents are taken up within institutional systems remain limited. Information does exist. But it is often dispersed, technical, and not easily accessible in a consistent manner.
 

These updates aim to trace how issues of water quality and water ecosystems are addressed in India across these systems. With these updates, we map the actors involved, their responses over time, and the factors shaping decision making while also surfacing the environmental and governance knowledge embedded within these processes.
